Never before have Karl May's life and work been presented in any successful tie-in with the unique exhibition "The Native North American Indian" at Radebeul, Germany. Karl May was a fervent advocate of red Indians' rights and bemoaned this brave people's extinction. Thus his life's portrayal in this film is greatly enriched by including selected specimens from the aforementioned permanent exhibition. The film, having been shot on proper location throughout, offers a wealth of detailed backround information in a complex and elaborate blending of action and narrative commentary, and is sure to be welcome by Karl May aficionados young and old.
